Dealer Asking $100K Over Sticker For Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 20th Anniversary Edition

All Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedans are equipped with the hand-built supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4). This element of craftsmanship is amplified in the 20th Anniversary Special Edition model, of which 21 were built for the 2024 model year.

Buyers paid $36,000 to add the 20th Anniversary Edition package to their factory order – a significant amount of money, but the amount pales in comparison to the price of the one currently listed for sale at a Cadillac dealership in South Carolina. The original MSRP of this particular CT5-V Blackwing – which is number 12 out of 21 – was $158,080, including $63,190 in options. However, the Jim Hudson Cadillac dealership in Columbia, SC has marked the price up by $100K to a lofty $258,623.

This is likely the last brand-new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with the 20th Anniversary Edition package remaining in dealer inventory. That means it’s the last option left for buyers who require a brand-new Blackwing with substantial levels of exclusivity. We imagine not being able to choose from one of the 20 unique exterior paint colors is a major drawback for anyone who was pursuing a factory order, though this particular unit is a great choice for someone who can appreciate the vibrant Tactical Tintcoat paint color.

Highlights of the 20th Anniversary Edition package include unique paint colors, a hand-painted finish, and final assembly at the Artisan Innovation Center. All together, each unit required as much as 500 man-hours to complete.

In addition to the ultra exclusive package, this super sedan was also ordered with carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers, both carbon fiber packages, the performance data and video recorder, ultraview sunroof, parking package, and Satin Graphite wheels.

Given its asking price, it appears the dealer is prepared to wait for the right buyer. However, we have to wonder if the buyer would be willing to pay the up-charge. We know that it’s only a matter of time before Cadillac announces the discontinuation of the gas-powered monster and replaces it with an electrified one that is unlikely to offer a manual transmission.

Thanks to human nature, CT5-V Blackwing values will appreciate as the transition cements the CT5-V Blackwing’s collectibility. Even so, no one knows if values will rise enough to offset the upcharge seen here, and current demand seems to favor units equipped with the Precision Package. Such models at least offer a performance advantage. In that regard, the 20th Special Edition model is mechanically identical to all other CT5-V Blackwing sedans sans the Precision Pack.

This begs the question: “what’s a fair price?” For reference, we spotted another 20th Edition Blackwing for sale in Michigan this time last year, and it was listed at $144,975.
