Cadillac Escalade Buyers Are Actually Quite Young

Cadillac’s most popular nameplate – the flagship Cadillac Escalade SUV – is purchased by surprisingly young buyers despite the vehicle’s price.

In a recent interview with Cadillac Society Executive Editor, Alex Luft, Escalade Marketing Manager, Donnelly Baxter, revealed that the average age of regular-wheelbase Escalade buyers is late 40s, while that of the longer and more spacious Escalade ESV is mid-40s.

Baxter explained the difference by saying that “the ESV, tends to skew a couple years younger than the short wheelbase just because it’s more family oriented,” while observing that typical buyers for the standard-length vehicle are “either people whose children have already left home or people that want an amazing, standout vehicle but don’t need the third row as much” as those who buy the Escalade ESV.

In other words, the Escalade – which features tons of space, is loaded with heaps of luxury, cutting-edge tech and convenience features, plenty of road presence and a starting price of around $88K – is attracting quite a youthful clientele.

In fact, Escalade buyers have become somewhat more youthful in recent years.

“From an age perspective, customers have gotten a little bit younger, about two to three years younger on average,” Baxter added.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade received a thorough refresh that covers all aspects of the luxury SUV. Updates start with a new front fascia with styling cues pulled from the Escalade IQ, Lyriq and Celestiq, including slim horizontal lights (the turn signals) that run along the underside of the hood line plus vertical headlights beneath them. Even the amber front marker lights were revised for the refresh.

At the rear, the updated Escalade features the model’s signature vertically-oriented taillights with a slight change to the outer edge of the rear cluster. A few trim pieces were changed on the hatch door and on the rear bumper, including a new set of exhaust tips.

Inside, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade features a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, comprised of a section that covers the gauge cluster and the center infotainment display, along with another section for the front passenger (which gets a special coating that prevents the driver from seeing this section when vehicle is in gear).

Other changes include the discontinuation of turbodiesel engine availability as a result of low demand, and standard inclusion of the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system.

The standard 2025 Cadillac Escalade is now powered exclusively by the atmospheric 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code L87), while the high performance Escalade-V gets the supercharged 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code LT4). Both engines carry over from prior model years.

Production of the refreshed SUV started on October 7th, 2024 at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
