Take A Tour Of The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Exterior With Us: Video

The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing stands at the top of the CT4 lineup, boasting a robust twin-turbocharged six cylinder engine beneath its chiseled hood. Cadillac Society had the chance to spend some quality time with the luxury super sedan in person, giving us a chance to go over its exterior design with a fine-tooth comb.

In the video below, Cadillac Society Executive Editor, Alex Luft, chronicles every last piece of the CT4-V Blackwing exterior in a comprehensive bumper-to-bumper tour.

This particular 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is finished in Electric Blue, which was only available for the 2022 and 2023 models before being discontinued. That head-turning blue hue puts the super sedan’s curves on full display, but as Luft notes, the CT4-V Blackwing isn’t too full of itself. It retains an understated design that isn’t trying too hard to classify itself as a sports car, but it does have some important distinctions that give away its high-performance pedigree.

To start, the hood features quite a few interesting lines, highlighted by a center “spine” that trails from the windshield to the grille and front fascia. The grille features a diamond-like pattern and glossy black surround, a theme that’s carried through to other parts of the vehicle. This model is kitted out with the optional Carbon Fiber 1 Package, which adds – you guessed it – carbon fiber aerodynamic elements throughout the vehicle, including on the lower part of the front fascia.

Perhaps the most striking element of the vehicle’s front end is the vertical lighting signatures. These have become a staple of modern Cadillac design and flow into the headlamps themselves, which are positioned horizontally, giving the model an aggressive, road-eating expression.

From the side, a dead giveaway that this is a Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing – and not a “lesser” CT4 model – are the air extractors behind the front wheels. The CT4 also features a traditional three-box sedan silhouette – there’s no fastback or liftback aesthetic here, and that’s a good thing in our book. Note the styling line that extends from the corner of the daytime running lamp (DRL), through the doors, and terminates past the taillamp, giving the luxury super sedan a streamlined, lithe appearance – just one of many bodylines that are equal parts aerodynamic and aesthetic.

Out back, the CT4-V Blacking features a relatively traditional rear window line, but its decklid does feature some interesting surface development. The decklid is topped with the extra carbon fiber spoiler that’s part of the Carbon Fiber 1 Pack. In fact, the spoiler features a two-tiered design for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The taillights themselves mirror the design of the front lighting elements, featuring a boomerang-like shape with an integrated Cadillac logo.

The bottom of the rear fascia features the quad exhaust outlets, which are dark and designed to match the rest of the blacked-out design elements. There’s also a set of reflectors within the lower fascia, which are oriented vertically to complement the vertically-positioned taillights.

The CT4-V Blackwing is powered by the the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4), rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. It’s just the cherry on top (inside?) of the beautiful super sedan, which is, in our opinion, is one of the most handsome sedans currently on the market.
