Some automobiles feature “Easter eggs” – subtle details integrated into the vehicle’s design that only eagle-eyed viewers will catch. For example, the Cadillac Lyriq features merlettes etched into the inside of its door jambs as a callback to the original Cadillac crest from 1902. This particular Easter Egg can also be found on the Escalade IQ and on the refreshed 2025 Escalade. Another Easter egg can be found on any model featuring the 55-inch pillar-to-pillar: an illuminated Cadillac badge placed on the back of the display.
This illuminated Cadillac crest can be found on any model with the aforementioned 55-inch display, including the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade, the Cadillac Celestiq ultra-luxury electric sedan, the Escalade IQ, and even the Cadillac Sollei concept convertible. And even though we haven’t seen the windshield of the extended-length Escalade IQL, the large electric luxury SUV will probably feature it, too.
Positioned directly in the center of the screen to line up with the front and rear spines and Cadillac crests to create continuity throughout the vehicle’s centerline, the light-up crest is particularly noticeable in dark environments. Though it can still be seen during the day, it’s most visible at night to those who are in front of the vehicle. From what we know thus far, the crest illuminates only when the vehicle is in park.
Beyond the illuminated crest, the 55-inch display is a standout feature in its own right, stretching from coast to coast (or from pillar to pillar), dominating the dash. It starts behind the steering wheel, encompassing the gauge cluster, before extending into the center stack, where it provides infotainment functionality. Finally, it stretches into the passenger’s side of the dash, where it serves as a secondary infotainment center that can be used by the front-seat passenger. Another screen – the Front Command Center (FCC) – is placed within the center stack, just below the 55-inch unit, for common vehicle controls, including HVAC settings.
Interestingly, the lit-up crest is also present on other models that don’t have the 55-inch screen. Look hard enough and you’ll find it on vehicles with the 33-inch curved display, such as the Lyriq, refreshed 2024 XT4, refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5, and the upcoming Vistiq.
