2025 Lincoln Navigator Debuts As Cadillac Escalade Rival

Cadillac’s crosstown rival, Lincoln, has pulled the veil from the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, showing off its overhauled exterior and interior filled to the brim with all manner of technology. Notably, when the 2025 Navigator hits the market next year, it will directly rival the Cadillac Escalade full-size luxury SUV.

Contrasting the Escalade’s vertically oriented front lighting signatures, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator features a horizontal light bar underscoring its headlight clusters, which are feature side-by-side LEDs. A revamped front end with a large grille and generous lower intakes is also present and accounted for.

Out back, the Navigator gets a horizontal taillight bar that stretches across the rear hatch, terminating in a downturn on either side of the liftgate. Speaking of the liftgate, the new Navi now boasts the new Lincoln Split Gate, which splits the rear door into two parts: the top three-quarters of the hatch lifts upward, while the lower quadrant lowers like the tailgate of a pickup. Not only does it result in ease of access, but it also prevents items (like groceries) from falling out when the rear door is opened. The luxury SUV rolls on a set of 22-inch wheels as standard, while optional 24-inch rollers are available at a premium.

Inside, the 2025 Navigator features a 48-inch coast-to-coast (pillar-to-pillar) display front and center, which is paired with an 11.1-inch touchscreen control panel on the vehicle’s center stack. Built-in tech includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, while the Google Play store offers quite a few other apps and features. The Navigator also gets BlueCruise, Ford’s semi-autonomous driver assist technology, as standard. Seating for up to eight passengers is part of the options list, as is a seven-passenger version in two configurations: regular second-row captain’s chairs or a new Second-Row Power Tailored Seats, which bring the comfort of power-adjustable, heated, ventilated and massaging captain’s chairs to second-row passengers.

As for motivation, the 2025 Navigator features Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, good for 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Four-wheel-drive is standard. Buyers who wish to haul with the Navigator can purchase the optional Heavy Duty Trailer Tow Package, which enables the luxury SUV to haul 8,700 pounds.

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator will go on sale in Spring 2025. Pricing has not yet been revealed.

Comparatively, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade is on the way, boasting revamped exterior styling and an overhauled cockpit featuring its own 55-inch coast-to-coast screen. Powertrain options include the standard naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine (production code L87), while the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) is found under the hood of the high-performance Escalade-V. Production will commence in late 2024 at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
