Second-Gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 Interior Revealed In China

The second-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5 was unveiled in China just last week at the Cadillac House in Shanghai, marking the luxury crossover’s first overhaul since its introduction in the Asian country over eight years ago. We already knew what to (more or less) expect from the interior thanks to a leak last year, but Cadillac didn’t show the cabin during the reveal, electing only to show off the new XT5’s exterior. But now, the luxurious cockpit has been officially revealed in full.

The second-gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 interior aligns the luxury crossover with Caddy’s latest interior design and execution direction. This includes a crisp 33-inch 9K curved display spanning from behind the steering wheel to the center stack, serving double-duty as both digital instrument cluster and central infotainment display. The design is identical to the screen used in the Cadillac Lyriq, which has now made its way to the refreshed Cadillac XT4 and Cadillac CT5, as well as the second-generation Cadillac CT6.

Below the screen, mounted to the left of the steering wheel, are a series of physical buttons that control the HVAC system. This includes specific buttons for vent direction, temperature controls, A/C, window defrosters, and more. The buttons are mounted directly beneath the vents themselves, which are mounted in a thin, horizontal orientation below the display screen. The rotary dial mounted on the center console can be used to toggle options on the infotainment center, paired with a touch interface that also controls the infotainment system.

The cupholders, meanwhile, are mounted within the center console directly to the right of the rotary controls, a deviation from the first-gen XT5, which featured a console-mounted shift lever and hidden cupholders. In fact, the second-gen XT5 doesn’t feature a console-mounted shift lever at all; instead, gears are selected using the column-mounted lever.

The 2025 Cadillac XT5 for the Chinese market also offers a wealth of interior customization options that were not previously available for its predecessor. This includes a wide selection of premium materials and interior colorways, along with improved sound insulation, ambient lighting, and a premium AKG audio system, which is a first for the luxury crossover.

Outside, the overhauled Cadillac XT5 features a completely overhauled front fascia, now featuring thin horizontal lighting signatures over vertically stacked headlight clusters. Its rear lighting elements are also completely new with L-shaped taillights that extend toward the center of the liftgate.

At the time of this writing, specs for the second-gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 have not yet been revealed. Cadillac’s parent in China, SAIC-GM, indicated that it will tell all in the coming weeks as the luxury crossover prepares for its official launch in the domestic Chinese market.

As a reminder, the second-gen XT5 will be exclusive to the Chinese market, although the luxury marque did consider bringing the model to North America. Now, though, that outcome seems unlikely.
