2024 Cadillac Escalade-V Is 13th Millionth Vehicle Built At Arlington Plant: Video

The Cadillac Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas has been bustling since it was opened in 1954. The facility marks its 70th birthday this year, having built millions of vehicles. In fact, the 13 millionth unit just rolled off the assembly line, and it was none other than the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V.

Per a report from the City of Arlington, the milestone Escalade-V was greeted by the plant’s 5,400 employees after the finishing touches were added on the assembly line. The muscular luxury SUV represents the most powerful variant of the (internal combustion) Escalade nameplate, which has been built at the plant since it was introduced for the 1999 model year.

“Milestones like these are met only through the dedication, determination and skill of our employees,” Arlington plant Executive Director John Urbanic said. “We can’t thank our employees enough for what they do every day. We build each vehicle as if it were our own and value every customer.”

The Arlington plant previously handled assembly of the Cadillac Brougham and Cadillac Fleetwood and is currently responsible for the Escalade and its extended-length variant, the Escalade ESV. In 1997, the assembly was converted to exclusively handle truck production, while a stamping facility was added in 2021. Since 2014, Cadillac parent, General Motors, has invested $1.9 billion into the facility.

“This plant is an integral part of Arlington’s history and its economy, both for the thousands of good-paying jobs created for our residents over the decades and our community’s great pride in the world-class vehicles that roll off the assembly line each day right here in The American Dream City,” Arlington Mayor Jim Ross said. “The long-standing partnership between the City of Arlington and General Motors is a testament that we are truly better together. We can’t wait to see what the future brings.”

Production of the Cadillac Escalade-V will only ramp up from here, as the luxury marque will pump its production numbers up for the high-performance luxury SUV’s 2025 model year to keep pace with demand.
