The Cadillac Escalade-V is the most powerful vehicle ever currently offered by the luxury marque, outdoing even the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, with which it shares its supercharged engine. The high-performance luxury SUV has proven to be a popular choice among buyers, prompting Caddy to increase its production to keep pace with demand.
The luxury marque dropped the news to the press ahead of the reveal of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade, indicating that it plans to increase production of the 2025 Escalade-V at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
“We are increasing production [of the Escalade-V] to help meet customer demand for the pinnacle of Escalade performance, luxury and craftsmanship, while maintaining exclusivity,” a Cadillac spokesperson was quoted as saying.
High demand for the Escalade-V is likely, in part, due to the fact that it has no direct rivals. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 AMG and BMW Alpina XB7 are about as close as any automaker gets, but both of these vehicles are unibody models. The Escalade-V, meanwhile, is a body-on-frame SUV with two wheelbase options. Caddy’s crosstown rival, Lincoln, explicitly stated that it isn’t interested in competing with Escalade-V with a high-performance Lincoln Navigator.
As a reminder, under the hood, the Cadillac Escalade-V harnesses the supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), capable of a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, and bolts to the 10-speed automatic transmission. Just like the rest of the Escalade lineup, the Escalade-V was treated to a midcycle refresh for the 2025 model year, gaining a revamped front end and an overhauled interior.
Increased production of the Cadillac Escalade-V will come at the expense of the base 2025 Escalade Luxury. This decision makes sense given that buyers of the Escalade typically opt for more well-equipped models in the lineup.
