Cadillac Live Discontinued For Most Models, Except For Electric Vehicles

Cadillac Live launched back in late 2019, giving shoppers the chance to connect with a product specialist for a virtual tour of any of its vehicles, all on demand (live). Alas, we’ve now learned that the service has since been discontinued, although it continues to exists to some extent, as Cadillac is keeping Live alive (some pun intended) exclusively for tours of its electric vehicles, featuring the Cadillac Lyriq, Cadillac Escalade IQ, Cadillac Optiq, and Cadillac Celestiq in its virtual showroom.

Described as “part personal shopper and part interactive digital showroom,” Cadillac Live allows users to participate in an online call with one-way video to receive a personalized tour of one of the luxury marque’s vehicles guided by an assistant / product specialist. The Cadillac Live representative moves around the vehicle, camera in hand, answering customer questions in detail and demonstrating various features as requested.

The program enables interested buyers and potential customers to get a detailed look and answers to their questions about a current model without the high-pressure sales environment and possible inconvenience of a brick-and-mortar dealership. Cadillac Live was first introduced in Canada in 2019, but was quickly rolled out in the U.S. in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic restricted customers’ ability to visit dealerships.

In keeping its electric vehicles on the service, Cadillac ensures that it can continue to answer the numerous and complex questions people have about the relatively new models. Previously, the Lyriq was featured on the service on a limited basis, introducing customers to the luxury electric vehicle before it was introduced, but it’s now a permanent fixture alongside the rest of the luxury marque’s current range of EVs. The only Cadillac EV that has yet to join the Live studio is the Vistiq, which has been revealed but without many details.
