The Cadillac Society Take
The sub-par Cadillac Canada sales performance during the second-quarter continues the luxury marque’s negative streak in the country, where its deliveries have been steadily declining over the last year. In fact, the drop during Q2 represents Cadillac’s fourth consecutive quarterly decline in the Canadian market. However, the rate of decline during Q2 is minimal and noticeably lower than previous records, marking a relative stabilization.
The majority of models offered. by Cadillac in Canada suffered significant drops, tipping the balance to the negative side during the quarter. Among them, the Cadillac XT5 and regular length Cadillac Escalade stood out with the most significant drops in volume. Interestingly, both models experienced the same rate of decline of 34.57 percent, cumulatively sapping 701 units from the bottom line. Despite a nine percent drop, the XT4 saw a significant recovery, consolidating it as the best-selling Cadillac model in Canada.
The Cadillac Escalade ESV and Cadillac Lyriq were the only models that saw an uptick in sales during Q2. The extended-length Escalade again posted a modest single-digit increase, while the all-electric crossover posted a substantial triple-digit jump to record its highest quarterly sales performance to date in Canada. The 1,099 deliveries positioned the Cadillac Lyriq as the marque’s second most popular vehicle in the local market.
