Drawing on Cadillac’s rich racing heritage, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is getting a new limited-edition variant. Dubbed the Le Monstre Edition, the luxury super sedan is a callback to the 1950 24 Hours of Le Mans, dressed with accents inspired by a legendary Caddy race car just in time for the 101st running of the iconic endurance race this weekend.
This 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre borrows its name from the heavily modified 1950 Cadillac Series 61 that raced Le Mans in 1950. “Le Monstre” – French for “The Monster” – harnessed a 331 cubic-inch V8, good for 160 horsepower under its peculiar wedge-shaped body. Le Monstre raced alongside its sibling, “Petit Pataud,” in the event, averaging over 130 mph across 24 hours of racing. Fittingly, the Petit Pataud name will also be used on a special edition of the 2025 CT4-V Blackwing.
Unfortunately, after its driver struck a sand bank on Lap 2, Le Monstre lost precious ground and dropped to 35th in the race. However, the blisteringly fast (for its time, anyway) race car powered back through the field and was able to finish 11th, one position (and five miles) behind Petit Pataud.
Le Monstre wore a No. 2 on its doors, and the same digit is carried by the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition, visible on a decal affixed to the lower corners of the front two doors. A “Le Monstre” inscription decorates the carbon fiber side skirt just below the rear doors. The luxury super sedan features a sporty Magnus Metal Frost paint scheme with Stormhawk Blue carbon fiber accents and Royal Blue brake calipers.
Inside, the No. 2 is stitched into the seatbacks, embossed on the shifter medallion, and engraved into the unique door sill plates. Customers can choose from two exclusive colorways, including Jet Black/Phantom Blue and Sky Cool Gray/Phantom Blue, which is paired with Santorini accents and blue seat belts. Like the rest of the refreshed 2025 CT5 range, the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre features a 33-inch screen encompassing both the instrument cluster and infotainment screen.
Production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition is scheduled for early 2025, limited to 101 units to commemorate the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 101st running of the event. It will be built alongside the aforementioned 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud, of which only 50 will be assembled.
As a reminder, all 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing models, including Le Monstre, cradle the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) gasoline engine, delivering 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.
