Much to the delight of racing fans worldwide, three Cadillac Racing entries took the green flag for the 2023 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the luxury marque’s triumphant return to the iconic race after 20 years of absence. After a thrilling 24 hours of racing, Cadillac earned a hard-fought podium finish, and now, the luxury marque’s historic achievement is being immortalized in a new documentary set to be released at the end of the month titled “No Perfect Formula.”
Cadillac and Samsung TV Plus joined forces to produce the new documentary, which follows Cadillac Racing through its journey to get cars back on the grid at Le Mans last year. The 90-minute special showcases the team’s process from design and development to on-track action under the green flag, taking viewers along for the ride in endurance racing’s crown jewel.
The documentary will debut on the Hagerty Channel (No. 1194), available on the Samsung TV Plus App on Samsung Smart TVs and Galaxy devices, and on the internet on Friday, May 31st, 2024. No Perfect Formula will continue to air nonstop all night after its premiere. Beyond that, it will be broadcast every Friday at 7 p.m. EST until the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 15th through 16th.
“For more than a century, racing has provided a testbed for Cadillac to transfer knowledge and technology between race cars and production vehicles, and a way to build a fanbase for the brand around the world,” said John Roth, Cadillac global vice president. “2023 was a pivotal year for Cadillac Racing, and ‘No Perfect Formula’ captures the emotion and celebrates what was a successful season for the team.”
Notably, the start of the 2023 endurance racing season marked the debut of the Cadillac Racing V-Series.R race car, which features a hybrid electric drivetrain. Lessons learned by Cadillac Racing on track have helped the luxury marque in the development of its roadgoing and race-going electric vehicles – lessons that will continue to prove valuable as the luxury marque eyes its forthcoming attempt at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans.
