For the first time since its introduction for the 2020 model year, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 earned a Recommended rating from Consumer Reports, signaling that the publication finally has enough reliability information about the luxury sedan to give it a proper score.
As a reminder, CR collected data from its annual Auto Reliability Survey to rate the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and its rivals. Responses were gathered from owners of 330,000 total vehicles, asking them questions related to 20 possible problem areas, such as engine and transmission to infotainment systems.
The 2024 Cadillac CT4 was categorized as part of the Luxury Entry Level Cars segment, where it was ranked fifth among its rivals, thanks to its overall score of 70/100 points. The publication praised the 2024 CT4 for its performance, saying that it “delighted our testers by providing engaging, European-inspired driving dynamics,” although it was dinged for having a cramped cabin and a boisterous engine, both of which detract from the overall luxurious feel of the CT4.
Even so, CR granted the luxury sedan a 78/100 road test score. The acceleration and transmission performance earned a score of 4/5, and its handling was rated perfectly at 5/5. Surveys returned that owners are very pleased with the way the CT4 handles, praising its braking and overall handling, although several responses pointed out that the rear seat was relatively difficult to access, while others noted a lack of interior storage. Overall, the 2024 CT4 earned a 3/5 score in terms of predicted satisfaction.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 2024 CT4 scored below average in terms of predicted reliability, placing it below several rivals, like the 2024 BMW 2 Series that scored 64/100. It also underperformed the 2024 Acura Integra, which scored 47/100.
