Early Cadillac Escalade IQ Sketches Released By Design Team

While the design of the recently-revealed 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ borrows elements from its gasoline-powered counterpart, the all-electric EV features a design language of its own. Its streamlined exterior began as rough sketches, and now that the Escalade IQ has been revealed in full, the luxury marque released some of the concept artwork that served as inspiration for the electric Escalade.

The white-on-black sketches show the Escalade IQ in its bare-faced form. From here, it’s easy to draw parallels between the bold design of the Escalade IQ and that of the Cadillac Lyriq. The full-size luxury EV SUV is sketched out with a five-point “grille” similar to the Lyriq’s front LED display, accented by bold vertical lighting elements on either side of the front fascia.

These bare-bones sketches also reveal similarities in the design of the rear end, such as the the vertically-oriented taillights and boomerang-esque accents bracketing the vehicle’s liftgate. Note that the tail lights on the production model follow a different pattern, with no horizontally-oriented styling lines.

The bodyside surface development is also cleanly represented in the sketches, with some lines carrying over into the production model.

Another set of concept artwork adds color to the Cadillac Escalade IQ. This batch serves to “explore a balance of tension and fluidity in surfacing,” according to GM Design. The bold, chromed sketch shows off the space age-like doors, providing an idea of how light will be bent by the Escalade IQ’s curves.

As for the actual 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, the luxury EV SUV finds motivation in its two-motor eAWD configuration. That setup is good for up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque with the Velocity Max drive mode activated. Riding on the BT1 platform, the 2025 Escalade IQ starts at $130,000, including destination and freight charges. Production will commence in summer 2024 at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, now known as Factory Zero.

  1. Love the new look, but all Cadillacs are starting to look alike And drop all the XLT MYZ names . Quit trying to be a BMW . Time to go back to being the STANDARD of the world . I have a ’62 Caddy convertible and it gets far more attention than anything on the road today . When a Cadillac was a Cadillac and everyone knew what it was when it drove by .
