Here’s How To Use Built-In Google Features In Cadillac Vehicles: Video

The state-of-the art infotainment system found in certain Cadillac vehicles allows for seamless integration with an owner’s Google account, offering conveniences such as Google Maps – plus integration with one’s Google account, not to mention other useful features. In order to help owners understand how to use built-in Google services, the luxury marque released a video describing how to set up and navigate the system.

When first entering a Cadillac vehicle with built-in Google, a prompt will be displayed on the infotainment screen, asking users to sign into a Google account, or to create a new one. It’s important to note that in order to use the service, the vehicle must be outfitted with a Cadillac connected services plan, which can be added to a vehicle by simply pressing the OnStar button to speak with an agent, or by signing into Cadillac’s website to view available plans. Once a Cadillac connected service plan has been identified and the owner has signed into the Google account in the vehicle, the owner will be able to access all of the handy features.

These features include Google Maps, which acts as a navigation system integrated directly into the infotainment screen. From here, users can input a specific address to get real-time directions, or can search for points of interest, EV charging stations and gas stations.

Google Voice Assistant is also available, which allows users to take advantage of the Google search engine’s hands-free voice-activated content. To activate this feature, simply press the voice activation button on the steering wheel or say “Hey Google,” wait for the chime, and then speak a clear command. This feature can be used to initiate phone calls, text messages, navigation or more. For example, saying, “Hey Google, take me home,” will open Maps and navigate toward the address recognized as the user’s home.

  1. Since Cadillac and Buick are selling cars that once were made and sold here in USA,in Awful China who killed thousands of innocent people with covid. These cars should be made and sold here. I have been a GM Cadillac buyer since 1990. Since they are stabbing us in the back, I wiy no longer be buying GM cars. It’s sad how they are catering to China. I am a car buyer not a SUV buyer, I will never buy a SUV especially since they are trying to tell us that’s what the traditional car buyer wants. There are people out there who want roomy cars. Cadillac and GM has lost a loyal customer.

    • I’m with you. I’ll take it one step further: I’d rather buy an older car than an EV. I own a CT5 and a Malibu – unbelievably, that’s two-thirds of the sedans GM manufacture for the US market. Assuming Mary Barra sticks to her guns and limits American buyers to SUV EVs, I’ll be moving along.

  2. I like my 2023 Escalade Premium Luxury Platinum but sadly my 2016 Tesla accomplishes all the “new” features the Escalade has but does it more smoothly and more polished. Why was GM asleep while technology forged forward .That’s a 7 year catch up.

    • Just got a ct5 3.0 tt pl love the car and it’s fast .Had 3 Eldos before that. Really loved those. Now government is forcing all these electrics down our throat when they can hardly be supported. What about Hydrogen? Also they want the cafe to jump to 43 mph in a few years almost impossible to do. We will be driving 2 cylinder putt putts☹️😫

  3. I also feel that GM and particularly Cadillac are walking away from the loyal customers that have made them successful. I have bought or leased 19 new Cadillacs since 1980. I have also had 3 Corvettes, and Impala Convertible, 2 Monte Carlos, 3 Pontiacs (a GTO, a Catalina and a Bonniville) and 2 Oldsmobiles. To say I’m a GM guy would be a serious understatement. I am also very disappointed that loyalty is a one-way street. The fact that the CT6 and now the XT5 will only be available in China is a slap in face. I hope Cadillac and GM recognize their mistake before it bites them on the ass.

  4. I have owned 3 Cadillacs in my life. A handmedown 1972 Fleetwood Brougham that I used in HS. I still have my Dad’s 1967 deVille convertible (near mint condition w/+200k miles and I bought a 2022 CT5-V Blackwing as a retirement gift to myself. I also was looking forward to getting a CT6. I am not a fan of these new cars with all these Apps that you have to pay a monthly fee to use. I have everything in my cell phone already. I like my Blackwing…..but to me it looks like a 4dr Honda Accord.
