As previously reported by Cadillac Society, the first images of the forthcoming Cadillac Optiq luxury EV crossover were recently leaked in China, showing off what’s on the way for the latest addition to the luxury marque’s battery electric lineup. Set to slot under the Cadillac Lyriq in the luxury marque’s lineup, the vehicle was expected to be similar in size to the Cadillac XT4. However, taking a closer look at the exterior dimensions reveals that it will be larger.
The wheelbase of the Optiq measures in at 116.3 inches, enabling an overall length is 181.1 inches. The vehicle will measure 75.3 inches in width and 64.7 inches in height. That not only makes it longer than the XT4, but also the Cadillac XT5. In addition, the Optiq will be 0.2 inches longer and 0.4 inches wider than the XT5.
Check out the table below for a comparison of the Cadillac Optiq dimensions against the XT4, XT5 and Lyriq.
XT4 | XT5 | Optiq | Lyriq | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Wheelbase (in./mm) | 109.4 / 2780 | 112.5 / 2857 | 116.3 / 2954 | 121.8 / 3094 |
Length (in./mm) | 181.1 / 4600 | 189.6 / 4815 | 189.8 / 4822 | 196.7 / 4996 |
Width (in./mm) | 74.1 / 1880 | 74.9 / 1903 | 75.3 / 1912 | 77.8 / 1976 |
Height (in./mm) | 64.1 / 1630 | 65.9 / 1675 | 64.7 / 1644 | 63.9 / 1623 |
What’s particularly interesting about the Cadillac Optiq is that its size indicates room for another EV crossover to slot in below it. While it’s not clear what this particular vehicle could be, considering that Cadillac filed to trademark names like Vistiq and Ascendiq, the yet-unknown compact model could very well bear one of these nameplates.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Optiq will ride on a variant of the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, which currently underpins its big brother, the Lyriq, as well as the forthcoming Celestiq sedan. The Optiq will feature a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle offering two power output options, including 150 kW (201 horsepower) or 180 kW (241 horsepower).
The Cadillac Optiq is expected to make its global debut in the latter half of the 2023 calendar year. The model will be produced in both North America and in China.
