The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus bound for the North American market was recently unveiled by Ford Motor Company, sweeping in an all-new generation for the luxury crossover with a complete overhaul of its interior and exterior. The all-new Nautilus will compete directly with the Cadillac XT5 once it hits the market in early 2024.
The exterior features unique lighting elements such as slim LED headlights, a coast-to-coast lightbar spanning the front fascia, a “3D” front grille design, and an illuminated Lincoln “star” insignia. H2 pixel headlights are an optional extra. Meanwhile, the entire rear fascia has been overhauled over the prior second-generation model.
Inside, the interior has been completely overhauled, and now features soothing ambient lighting, a digital cabin air scent system with three fragrance choices, heated and massaging seats and a flat-top steering wheel. Perhaps the most significant addition to the all-new interior is that of the pillar-to-pillar display, which is complimented by an 11.1-inch center touchscreen, from which infotainment features are controlled.
Under the hood, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus features a choice of two engine options. The first is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 EcoBoost engine, which generates 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. It bolts to an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive as standard. The second powertrain option sees that same engine working in conjunction with a 100 kW electric motor, with combined system output of 310 horsepower with a CVT gearbox.
While the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus and the 2024 Cadillac XT5 will occupy the same competitive segment, the battle between the two luxury crossovers will prove to be a short one, as the XT5 is slated to exit the North American market after the 2024 model year. However, the XT5 it will continue life as a next-generation model in global markets.
