All-New 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Unveiled, On Its Way To Rival Cadillac XT5

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus bound for the North American market was recently unveiled by Ford Motor Company, sweeping in an all-new generation for the luxury crossover with a complete overhaul of its interior and exterior. The all-new Nautilus will compete directly with the Cadillac XT5 once it hits the market in early 2024.

The exterior features unique lighting elements such as slim LED headlights, a coast-to-coast lightbar spanning the front fascia, a “3D” front grille design, and an illuminated Lincoln “star” insignia. H2 pixel headlights are an optional extra. Meanwhile, the entire rear fascia has been overhauled over the prior second-generation model.

Inside, the interior has been completely overhauled, and now features soothing ambient lighting, a digital cabin air scent system with three fragrance choices, heated and massaging seats and a flat-top steering wheel. Perhaps the most significant addition to the all-new interior is that of the pillar-to-pillar display, which is complimented by an 11.1-inch center touchscreen, from which infotainment features are controlled.

Under the hood, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus features a choice of two engine options. The first is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 EcoBoost engine, which generates 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. It bolts to an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive as standard. The second powertrain option sees that same engine working in conjunction with a 100 kW electric motor, with combined system output of 310 horsepower with a CVT gearbox.

By comparison, the 2024 Cadillac XT5 is powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) as standard, which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX) is also available rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.

Cadillac XT5

While the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus and the 2024 Cadillac XT5 will occupy the same competitive segment, the battle between the two luxury crossovers will prove to be a short one, as the XT5 is slated to exit the North American market after the 2024 model year. However, the XT5 it will continue life as a next-generation model in global markets.

  1. The new Nautilus will be made in China, like the next generation XT-5. I guess that’s where the action is, and the U.S. is just chopped liver. Thanks for the love, Detroit!

    • Maybe the Nautilus is the way to go. I was thinking about Lexus but not a fan of using premium gas and was thinking about Lincoln anyway. Or keep my 2017 XT5 for a few more years.

    • Correct! Sad the the automakers care nothing about American made and are so money hungry.

  2. I guess US automakers are oblivious to the geo-political tensions between China and the West. I find it very strange that so much focus on design, product, and manufacturing is in a country whose leadership is overtly hostile to the nation where GM was founded.

  3. That new Lincoln Nautilus looks pretty nice…maybe I’ll lease one of those when the lease is up on my 2021 XT5 Platinum . It won’t be easy to switch brands after 42 years and 19 new Cadillacs, but Cadillac is walking away from its traditional customer base, which includes me. Its become a Chinese Company and they’re keeping all the good products, like the CT6 and XT5, out of the US market.

    • I have seen Cadillac TV commercials and print ads. Very few people in them look like me. They evidently have decided to eschew the customers who have kept them in business for 100 years in favor of people extremely unlikely to keep up car payments and insurance.

  4. 2024 Lincoln Nautilus looks promising. I think I should start saving for it instead of other car models.
