1,000 Units Of The Cadillac Lyriq Shipped Out In The Last Month

While production of the Cadillac Lyriq has been ramping up over the course of the past few months, deliveries of the electric luxury crossover have been relatively slim. However, Cadillac Society recently learned that the luxury marque is currently picking up the pace in terms of shipping out new units of the Lyriq.

During a recent media briefing, Cadillac vice president, Rory Harvey, stated that 1,000 units of the Cadillac Lyriq were shipped out over the course of a 30-day period ending on February 13th, 2023. By comparison, only 122 of the 8,195 units built last year were delivered throughout 2022. Although that may seem very low, the slow rollout of the all-new battery electric crossover is a conscious decision by Cadillac.

The luxury marque placed a quality hold on the Lyriq throughout 2022 as it worked to resolve issues with its first-ever all-electric vehicle, including items like a cracked liftgate panel and issues with the 33-inch curved instrument panel display. Now that those quality issues have been addressed, shipments of the Cadillac Lyriq can commence, and the luxury marque can be confident that the products it is delivering are up to its quality standards.

Cadillac plans to honor orders for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition by the end of Q1 2023, and the quality hold lift coupled with increased production will enable the luxury marque to do so. Not only is Lyriq line rate at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee on the rise, so is production of the EV’s battery pack at the Ultium Cells plant in Warren, Michigan.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is underpinned by the BEV3 platform, and can be outfitted with a choice of two drivetrain options. The first is the standard single-motor setup, which equips the Lyriq with one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration is optional, good for 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque
