The 2023 Cadillac XT6 can no longer be ordered with the Wilder Metallic exterior color, as the hue will soon be built out and made completely unavailable, Cadillac society has learned.
Wilder Metallic (paint code GED) will conclude its production run on March 20th, 2023, and will no longer be available as a hue on the 2023 Cadillac XT6. Prior to its impending discontinuation, Wilder Metallic was optional on all XT6 trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, adding $625 to the overall cost of the luxury crossover.
Additionally, Wilder Metallic was able to be outfitted in conjunction with all available XT6 interior colorways, which included the following:
Wilder Metallic was first introduced to the XT6 range for the luxury crossover’s 2021 model year, and was also subsequently offered for the 2022 model year. At this time, it’s unclear if the color will make a comeback for the 2024 model year, or if it has been discontinued completely. In fact, we believe that the 2024 model year will bring a refresh to the XT6, although this has not been confirmed by Cadillac.
To note, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 also loses the following colors:
The 2023 Cadillac XT6 rides on the luxury marque’s C1 platform, offering a choice of two engines. The first is the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on Premium Luxury and Sport models and is identifiable by the 400 badging on the liftgate.
The second is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is offered exclusively on the base Luxury trim, and the liftgate wears the 350T badge to identify the boosted four. Both engines bolt to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission.
As a reminder, XT6 production takes place at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China, where the model is build at the Cadillac Jinqiao plant. In the U.S., assembly for the 2024 model year is expected to begin in mid-2023.

One of four new colors for the 2025 model year.
And it now represents the best value in its segment.
A curious sighting from a video of the Cadillac design studio.
