2023 Cadillac XT5: Here’s The New Opulent Blue Metallic Color

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, and Opulent Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Blue hue.

Assigned production code GTR and touch-up paint code WA-705U, Opulent Blue Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the luxury crossover, which include:

  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Latte Metallic
  • Rosewood Metallic
  • Stellar Black Metallic
  • Wilder Metallic
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Opulent Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)

The Opulent Blue Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price. This color is available on all trims and can be combined with all five interior colorways:

  • Cirrus with Dark Titanium accents
  • Cirrus with Jet Black accents
  • Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents

The current first-generation crossover made its debut for the 2017 model year, with a refresh introduced for the 2020 model year.

Cadillac originally planned to give the XT5 a brand-new second generation model for the 2023 model year. However, the generational overhaul was subsequently delayed. What will end up taking place now is that the XT5 will see a next-gen model, but it will be exclusively for the Chinese market.

As a reminder, the Cadillac XT5 rides on the C1 Cadillac platform and is offered with two powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 gasoline engine (production code LSY), as well as the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 gasoline engine (production code LGX). Output is routed through Cadillac nine-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive standard on Luxury and Premium Luxury trims, with all-wheel drive being an optional extra. On the Sport trim, all-wheel-drive is standard.

XT5 production for North America takes place at the Cadillac Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. The 2023 Cadillac XT5 began rolling off the assembly line on June 10th, 2022.

  1. During the time everyone waits another year for the next generation XT5 and that China will get it exclusively before the U.S. market…..Cadillac keeps ignoring the original sales base. Suggestion for those who do not want the same vehicle with a new paint color.
Take a look at the new king of luxury SUV’s, the Genesis line has it all!

  2. Ironic…the original sales base for Cadillac is now buying vehicles from Companies from Korea, Japan, and Germany, and the Chinese are now the primary sales base for Cadillac/GM from NA. Truth, it appears, is stranger than fiction.

  4. So I’m asking, Is the Cadillac being sold by China now? If so why??? I am in the market for a new car to replace my 2010 Cadillac CTS. I Will not buy a Cadillac if it is being sold by China.
