2024 Cadillac Lyriq Will Feature 5G Network Connectivity

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq introduces quite a few changes and upgrades over its 2023 model year. Cadillac Society has now learned that one of these upgrades will be the addition of 5G network connectivity, making the electric crossover the first vehicle made by the luxury marque to feature 5G technology, as opposed to 4G.

5G connectivity will be standard across all 2024 Cadillac Lyriq trim levels, and will be utilized to support technologies such as OnStar and Super Cruise. The high-speed connection will also support customer-facing features such as navigation, video and music downloads, and faster Wi-Fi speeds where 5G is available. Additionally, 5G will help facilitate over-the-air updates, as well as the Lyriq’s Global B electrical vehicle architecture, also known as the Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP).

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is offered in three distinct trim levels, beginning with the all-new Tech trim. Pricing for this trim, which represents the entry level model in the Lyriq line, begins at $58,590 in the U.S. Meanwhile, the better-equipped Luxury trim starts at $62,690, and adds a handful of features that are not included on the Lyriq Tech, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Choreographed LED exterior lighting, Super Cruise, the Comfort and Security package, and more. Finally, the Sport trim adds a handful of dark-themed exterior accents and carries a starting price tag of $63,190.

Riding on the BEV3 platform, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is offered in either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, with the former harnessing a single Ultium Drive motor on the rear axle, and the latter adding a second motor on the front axle. RWD models boast 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The the AWD setup features 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Both configurations offer just over 300 miles of driving range on a single charge.

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China, and production will commence in late March 2023.
