Customers interested in purchasing the 2023 Cadillac Escalade should expect to pay $2,000 more for the full-size luxury SUV than initially expected, Cadillac Society has learned.
The price of the “regular” 2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, which is offered in Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport and Sport Platinum trim levels, has increased by $2,000. This price hike consists of a $500 MSRP increase as well as the $1,500 mandatory three-year OnStar & Connected Services fee. Meanwhile, the high-performance Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV have also received the $1,500 OnStar & Connected Services plan, but were not subject to an increased MSRP. As a reminder, the mandatory OnStar & Connected Services subscription adds an in-vehicle internet connection and subscription to OnStar. The former powers apps like the smartphone-based remote key fob, Alexa AI Built-In AI assistant, Spotify, Audiobooks, navigation (including Maps+), among others, while the latter brings OnStar Safety Services that include Automatic Crash Response, Roadside Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Assistance.
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade continues to ride on the body-on-frame T1 vehicle platform and is offered with a choice of two engines for the “regular” model. The first is the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code L87), capable of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Escalade, and models with this motor wear the 600 badge on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the turbodiesel 3.0L I6 engine (production code LM2) is optional. It’s rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; models with this engine used the 600D badge out back. Both engines mate to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the Escalade lineup for the 2023 model year is the all-new high-performance Cadillac Escalade-V, which features the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) that’s tuned to deliver a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, making it the most power Cadillac ever made. Production of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade range began on July 18th.
