Upcoming Cadillac Lyriq Sport To Get Unique LED Grille Pattern

Beyond the Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition, the luxury crossover is currently offered only in the Luxury trim, which is the base trim level as per Cadillac’s Y trim level strategy. But a more complete trim level lineup is on the horizon for the 2024 Lyriq range, and one of those incoming trims will be the Sport. Among other things to set it apart, the Lyriq Sport will get a unique front “grille.”

Obviously the battery electric Lyriq has no need for a traditional grille to serve as an air intake, so designers were allowed to explore other options for the vehicle’s front fascia. The result is a front grille cover with an integrated LED pattern. The upcoming Lyriq Sport will retain the same LED grille as the Luxury model on sale currently, but the Sport will have a different LED pattern.

Aside from the front grille, we expect the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq Sport to black out the Luxury model’s various chrome exterior accents, while also offering a set of different (more sporty) wheels and a set of neutral-density (clear) tail lamp housings. A set of trim-specific interior colorways and trim materials is also expected to be part of the Sport trim, as is a complete complete (full-loaded) features list.

A rendering of the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq Sport by Cadillac Society

Recently, Cadillac Society rendered what we expect the Cadillac Lyriq Sport will look like, but our rendition features the same front grille as the Debut Edition models. However, we did add a handful of different Sport-inspired exterior accents, such as blacked-out trim pieces, gloss black wheels, and dark-tinted taillight surrounds with clear housings.

On the powertrain, the Lyriq Sport will likely feature the dual-motor setup that facilitates higher power output and all-wheel-drive. This dual-motor configuration is found in the Lyriq AWD variants, where it produces over 500 horsepower.

Comparatively, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Launch Edition features a single Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for an estimated 312 miles of driving range. The all-new Lyriq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, and is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
