The first units of the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq have begun arriving at dealers in the U.S., with the very first example landing at a dealership in Michigan over the July 4th weekend.
The very first 2023 Cadillac Lyriq arrived at Cadillac of Novi during the first weekend of July, while LaFontaine Cadillac in Highland, Michigan received the second-ever unit. A Cadillac representative explained to The Detroit Free Press that the Lyriq will first be delivered to markets where demand for the luxury electric crossover is high. This includes the cities of New York, Detroit and Los Angeles. All of these markets received equal priority, but the vehicle carriers happened to arrive in Detroit before the other two cities.
Demand for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq has already proven to be quite significant. When reservations for the Lyriq Debut Edition opened up last year, they sold out in just under 10 minutes. From there, Cadillac decided to forego another round of reservations, and instead go straight to orders. Order banks opened in May, but filled up remarkably fast. This, in turn, prompted Cadillac to open pre-orders for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq.
Cadillac Novi noted that an interested party contacted them and offered $30,000 over MSRP for the sole 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in stock, which was already reserved for another customer. The dealership stated that it currently has 13 orders on file for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury RWD, and another 130 orders 2024 model year Lyriqs.
As a reminder, the Lyriq Debut Edition features a single Ultium Drive motor driving the rear wheels. This configuration is rated at 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The 100.4 kW battery pack is capable of an estimated 312 miles from a full charge. The upcoming Lyriq Luxury RWD model utilizes the same driveline, while the Luxury AWD models feature a second motor on the front axle for an all-wheel-drive setup, making 524 horsepower and a driving range of 287 miles.

I’m happy for people who are getting cars! I was unable to buy a 2021 Escalade so I ordered a 2022 last winter. The dealer says that I have to settle for a 2023. Since build for these starts next week, I am hoping to get one before the warranty expires. What do you think?

I think that Cadillac is doing very well in sales, but slow on production. I could not get a reservation for the Lyriq because none of the local Cadillac dealers are included, so I have to wait until 2024 and see if I can get a 2025 MY.

I visited and stayed one week in Novi, Michigan during October 1989. I still remember the large water tank with “NOVI” on the exterior.
