First 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V To Be Auctioned For Charity

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will go into production later this year, and the very first production model will be sold at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction.

Since the Escalade-V will not begin production at the Arlington plant until after the auction, the winning bidder will be able to select a preferred Cadillac dealer for delivery. There will be a placeholder Escalade-V physically present on the auction block, but it will be a pre-production model that will not be the VIN 001 model to be eventually delivered to the buyer.

As with other VIN 001 vehicles to be built and auctioned by Cadillac, all proceeds from the sale of the very first Cadillac Escalade-V will benefit the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design. This institution is Michigan’s only Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Additionally, the winning bidder will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. D’Wayne Edwards, a well-known athletic footwear designer and founder of Pensole Lewis College, to design an exclusive pair of sneakers that will be produced at a very limited capacity.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V is powered by the luxury marque’s supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), capable of a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission relays all that power to the pavement, connected to a full-time all-wheel-drive drivetrain.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V is set to go on sale late this summer, and will carry a starting MSRP of $149,990 for the regular-length model. The extended-length Escalade-V ESV will start at $152,990. The VIN 001 Escalade-V will likely fetch far more than that at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction, which will commence June 30th.
