The 2022 Cadillac Escalade represents the second model year of the all-new fifth generation Escalade, for which it received a few very minor changes. These include three new exterior colors, a new Buckle-To-Drive feature, removal of the cabin air ionizer feature as well as the removal of the NFC mobile pairing feature.
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade will continue to be offered in either the regular-length model or in the extended-length Escalade ESV, which features a wheelbase that’s 12 inches longer. The luxury SUV is offered with two engine choices: the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline motor (production code L87) rated at 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque, or the turbo-diesel 3.0L I6 (production code LM2) rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines bolt to the 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to either the vehicle’s rear axle or to all four wheels.
Per Cadillac’s Y-trim level strategy, five trim levels are on offer, including the base Luxury, followed by Premium Luxury and Premium Luxury Platinum as well as Sport and Sport Platinum.
