The ongoing global microchip shortage has forced Cadillac to restrict certain features from its vehicle lineup, but thankfully, as the situation improves, those features are being reintroduced. The park assist feature on the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is one of the initial features that Cadillac had to trim from its lineup, but has recently reintroduced.
Cadillac Society has learned that all units of the CT4-V Blackwing are being built with Front and Rear Park Assist (production code UD5) as well as Reverse Automatic Braking (production code UVZ) as of April 10th production. Previously, these features were restricted, beginning with January 24th production on all vehicles in the CT4 range, including CT4 Luxury, CT4 Premium Luxury, CT4 Sport, CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing.
It should be noted that Front and Rear Park Assist is standard on the CT4-V Blackwing. Meanwhile, Reverse Automatic Breaking is standard on CT4-V Blackwing units equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission, and is not available on units equipped with the six-speed manual transmission.
However, the park assist features are still constrained on the regular CT4 (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport) and the Cadillac CT4-V. In regular production, both Front and Rear Park Assist along with Reverse Automatic Braking would be standard on CT4-V, Premium Luxury and Sport trims, while not being offered on units in the base Luxury trim.
As a reminder, the range-topping 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4) rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 10-speed automatic is optional. Power is routed exclusively through the rear wheels.
