Recently, the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition was revealed in celebration of the luxury marque’s milestone anniversary. Just 120 units of the special edition ultra-high-performance sedan will be produced, and the first unit to be assembled already has a new owner, having sold at auction for a cool $250,000.
The vehicle crossed the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach in Florida, and its presentation was attended by Brandon Vivian, executive chief engineer at Cadillac.
“What we have to auction off here is a very, very special CT5 V-Series Blackwing special edition. This special edition celebrates the 120th anniversary of Cadillac, so we’re going to auction off here the most powerful Cadillac ever produced,” said Vivian.
The full $250,000 hammer price of the special edition 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing went to the SAE Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps to increase the accessibility of STEM programs to students worldwide. “We proudly support the SAE Foundation and are grateful to Barrett-Jackson for providing this opportunity,” Rory Harvey, vice president of Global Cadillac, said after the sale. “We will help create a new sustainably-focused challenge for high school students across the country, as well as provide hands-on immersive STEM learning for students in under-resourced communities.”
The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition draws power from the luxury marque’s supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), which is capable of 669 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. As previously mentioned, this special edition super sedan is limited to just 120 units, and each carries unique details to set them apart, such as Cadillac-logo embossed sill plates, a special shifter medallion, and special plaques on the steering wheel and B-pillars, along with a certificate of authenticity. Each unit carries a serialized VIN containing an important year in Cadillac’s history from 1902 to 2022.
Pricing for the CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition has yet to be announced, but the regular production version starts at $84,940 including destination and freight charges.

Does anyone know how long it takes to build a CT5V Blackwing, once it reaches the production line and all of the parts are in house?

Unless you are in China, it’s going to take 12 weeks or more according to my dealer. He said average right now is running closer to 20 weeks. Good luck!
