The 2022 Cadillac CT5 represents the luxury sedan’s third model year on the market. One of the changes for the 2022 model year is the addition of several active safety features as standard that the 2021 model offered as options.
The base Luxury trim level now features Following Distance Indicator, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist, all as standard equipment. Previously, these features were part of the optional Driver Awareness Plus Package, which was only available for units of the CT5 in the Premium Luxury, Sport and CT5-V trim levels.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport models feature Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and Reverse Automatic Braking as standard. These features were also previously included as part of the Driver Awareness Plus Package, which also included Front and Rear Park Assist and IntelliBeam high beam assist. All of the aforementioned features are now standard for the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V.
Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assist technology, Super Cruise, remains optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury, Sport, and CT5-V. The Super Cruise package also includes the HD Surround View Camera. However, this feature is not exclusive to the Super Cruise package, and can also be obtained by upgrading to the optional Platinum Package or Parking Package. The Parking Package also bundles the Rear Camera Mirror, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Surround Vision Recorder and Automatic Park Assist with Braking.
The all-new 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also features a host of active safety features. Its list is similar to that of the CT5-V. However, certain features are not compatible with the super sedan’s standard six-speed manual transmission. These features include the Automatic Braking System, Reverse Automatic Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, and Super Cruise. In fact, Super Cruise is not available whatsoever on the CT5-V Blackwing.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 350T will continue to be powered by the same engine lineup. The base engine will remain the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury 550T, where it makes 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and is standard on the CT5-V, where it makes 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.
Joining the CT5 lineup the 2022 model year is the CT5-V Blackwing, which harnesses the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), putting out a show-stopping 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 entered production the first week of October 2021, nearly five months after assembly of the 2021 CT5 was idled due to the ongoing microchip shortage.
