2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V Blackwing Get Standard Brembo Brakes

The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will both ship with standard Brembo brakes with cast-iron rotors and high-performance aluminum calipers.

All CT4-V Blackwing models will come with Brembo monobloc all-aluminum, six-piston calipers out front, which grab 15.0-inch cast-iron two-piece rotors. In the back, the high-performance sedan rocks Brembo two-piece all-aluminum four-piston calipers and slightly smaller 13.4-inch cast iron integral disc rotors. The front discs tip the scales at 27.6 pounds apiece, while the rear discs weigh 18.6 pounds each.

The CT5-V Blackwing is bigger, heavier and more powerful than the CT4-V, so it needs some more stopping power. As such, it gets Brembo monobloc all-aluminum six-piston calipers in the front with larger 15.7-inch cast-iron two-piece rotors. The rear, meanwhile, features two-piece all-aluminum four-piston calipers with 14.7 inch cast iron integral disc rotors. The CT5-V Blackwing’s front rotors weigh in at 36.6 pounds, while the rears weigh in at  24.4 pounds.

The Brembo brake calipers on both the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will be available in four colors: Harbor Grey, Edge Red, Royal Blue and a brand new Brembo caliper color – Tech Bronze.

Powerful brakes are a necessity in high-performance sedans like the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing and will be a major factor in the vehicles’ on-track performance. As a reminder, the CT4-V Blackwing is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4), which is rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The CT5-V Blackwing, meanwhile, packs a supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4) under the hood, which produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard in both vehicles, while a 10-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. Both sedans are rear-wheel-drive only.

Brembo also supplies the brakes for the Cadillac DPi-V.R prototype that currently competes in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, where Cadillac has won the Rolex 24 at Daytona four years in a row. The Cadillac DPi-V.R is powered by a 6.2L V8 engine and features a six-speed sequential racing gearbox and rear-wheel-drive.
