2021 Cadillac Escalade Grabs Consumer Guide Best Buy Award

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade introduces an all-new, fifth generation for the iconic luxury nameplate, hitting the scene with revamped exterior styling, cutting-edge technology, and a revised engine lineup. It’s an impressive package, and now, Consumer Guide Automotive has recognized the latest Escalade with a top Best Buy award.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade managed to snag the award in Consumer Guide’s Premium Large SUV category, which also included the Audi Q7 and Q8, the BMW X7, the Infiniti QX80, the Land Rover Range Rover, the Lexus LX570, the Lincoln Navigator, the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, and the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Consumer Guide noted the redesigned 2021 Cadillac Escalade for its expanded interior space, new independent rear suspension, and added comfort and tech features, not to mention the newly available 3.0L I6 turbodiesel engine (production code LM2).

The new Escalade’s large OLED instrument display, AKG premium audio system, augmented-reality navigation, and Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system were also noteworthy additions.

“Power, presence, and plushness are key attributes in the premium large SUV class, and the Cadillac Escalade has them in spades, along with come cutting-edge technology features,” Consumer Guide Automotive points out.

As for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade’s drawbacks, the organization pointed to high pricing and poor fuel economy for the standard naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gas engine (production code L87), as well as cumbersome low-speed maneuverability due to its large size.

Nevertheless, Consumer Guide Automotive was smitten by the way in which the 2021 Cadillac Escalade catered to the wants and needs of the core audience in the Premium Large SUV segment.

“The all-new Escalade caters to this audience even better than before, with more cabin space, welcome new features, and better all-around refinement,” Consumer Guide Automotive points out. “Simply put, the Escalade offers the luxury, technology gadgets, comfort, space – and blingy attitude – that many buyers in this segment desire.”
