All-Digital Gauge Cluster Coming To 2021 Cadillac CT5 And CT5-V

The Cadillac CT5 sedan launched for the 2020 model year, arming the luxury marque with a brand new entry into the popular D-segment. But when the CT5 launched, it did so with analog instrumentation that consisted of an analog speedometer and tach bookending one of two digital screens. That will change for the 2021 Cadillac CT5 and CT5-V, both of which will introduce an all-digital, reconfigurable gauge cluster.

No photos of the new cluster are available at this time, but we do know that the new instrument panel will come in the form of a 12-inch color reconfigurable display.

The new, all-digital unit will be optional on the Premium Luxury, Sport, and CT5-V models, with only the base Luxury trim not offering the optional unit. The digital cluster will be offered as part of the Technology Package, which will also include a Head-Up Display.

The base gauge cluster will continue being the dual digital Driver Information Center display, which was standard on 2020 models.

In effect, the new 12-inch gauge cluster replaces the 8-inch diagonal color reconfigurable Driver Information Center display, which served as the optional, up-level instrument cluster for the 2020 model year Cadillac CT5 and CT5-V.

The Cadillac Society Take

Some were rather surprised that the CT5 launched without a reconfigurable gauge cluster, despite being an all-new vehicle and utilizing an all-new electrical architecture. To that end, the introduction of the all-digital gauge cluster for the 2021 Cadillac CT5 is welcome news, especially given that most other D-segment luxury sedans offer that feature, either as standard or as an option. In other words, the addition of the new 12-inch, digital cluster will make the CT5 a more compelling and competitive offering.

  1. I love configurable gauge clusters, but I hate “driver aids”. I hope the “Technology Package” doesn’t include that stuff.

  2. As Cadillac seems to be releasing info on the changes coming to the 2021 CT5, do you know if they will be expanding the available choice of interiors in the Platinum package?

  4. Great news. Right now, the head up display is part of the $1300 Driver awareness package, which is on my wish list. I want the digital like my XTS has, but don’t want to be forced to spend thousands to get it due to it being bundled with stuff I don’t want or need. I plan to order mine spec’d the way I want, right now at around $50k.
