The Cadillac Society Take
Cadillac South Korea sales began the 2020 calendar year with a dramatic decrease of 65 percent in January, thereby accumulating six consecutive months of contractions in the Asian market. In fact, the negative result last month represents one of the worst sales figures that the brand has registered in South Korea in its history, and the lowest sales volume in recent years.
The negative Cadillac South Korea sales in the first month of 2020 was caused by dramatic double-digit decreases suffered by each of the models offered by the luxury automobile brand in the country. As in the past, the vehicle that recorded the worst performance was the Cadillac CT6, slipping from 73 units in January 2019 to only 17 last month. The decrease in sales of the XT5 and the Escalade made the large sedan to continue as the brand’s best-selling vehicle, despite its impending discontinuation.
