Been waiting since June of last year for the chips to operate the heated steering wheel and seats. Called GM and they assured me the dealership had a list and I’m on it. Called the dealership (again) and they said they do indeed have a list, but just don’t have the inventory. I’m thinking either they get this fixed or compensate me — or. maybe get it fixed AND compensate me for the inconvenience.
Dancer7ParticipantStill no word from my Cadillac dealer here in WV. Last time I asked I was told that they’re keeping a list of people who need the chips and they’ll call the people on the list when they have them in hand. That was two months ago. Is there a point at which Cadillac just says they can’t acquire them and refunds the cost? IT’s kinda ridiculous to have a 2022 Cadillac that has the same features as the Honda Civic I drove in college (i.e., two blankets in the back seat for warmth since there was no such thing as a heated seat or steering wheel).
Dancer7ParticipantWas told when I bought my XT4 in June that the chips for both the heated steering wheel and the heated/cooled seats would be coming in the fall. I did get a letter from Cadillac telling me to contact my dealer to arrange installation, which I thought meant the chips had been delivered. Turns out that hadn’t and I was calling only to put myself on the list for when they do arrive. I understand supply chain, trade imbalances with Asian or Pacific Rim countries, etc., but this is a 2022 model, which means it was manufactured in 2021. I’m thinking two years ought to be sufficient time for shipment regardless of supply chain issues, but I could be wrong given pandemic-generated problems. Since the temps dropped to the 20s here last night though, I could really use those chips.
