Does anyone in this group know and can explain how the CT5-V order and allocation process works? This is the best kept secret in America. I have a car on order from the dealer, and it has been in 1100 status for 4 months. Cadillac says they will build it, the dealer does not seem sure they will get allocation (they have 3 on order now and they are not very big), but the status never changes. Dealer has no answers, Cadillac says go to the dealer, and round and round they go. I have never seen such disinterest in $100K in my life. Does anyone know how to find out if you will actually get a car?

I’m starting to have the same bad feeling and run around as you. They tell me allocations will come but I see a handful only. It’s like all this hype and commercials so only 5 people out of 10,000 will actually get their car.

So it is the best kept secret…

LJB I have BW5 on order scince April 2021. I get little or no updates from the dealer. When I initiate a text to the dealer for an update, they tell me they have no idea of the status. Just very odd GM would treat their best customers this way. We all know there is a chip shortage but why not tell us what the production schedule looks like. Looks like we may eventually get a new car that is one year old already.

There is clearly no moderator on this or any other part of the site. This is literally the worst forum in the car industry. There is virtually no information whatsoever to be gained by coming to this site.

Hello all ! I was contacted by my local Caddy dealer and told that 2022 CTv-5 Blackwing (Summit white/automatic) was being built and should be delivered sometime in April. Did not order all the bells and whistles (like carbon fibre package) and will hopefully actually receive my car. I ordered the car in October 2021 without a deposit. The dealer owner is a friend of the family (BONUS) !! Told I would be paying MSRP of $93,385 + tax and fees. Looks like my 67 Caddy convertible will soon be getting a little brother. Figured I join the Forum and get up to speed.

I have an identical situation. Ordered in October 21. Expected delivery in October 22. Was told it would arrive mid April. I’ll believe it when I sit. Also white, no carbon and MSRP + tax. No add on. Yahoo.

I went to my dealer and he gave me a “locator” sheet of paper that had a VIN# on it that he said was assigned to my order. I went onto cadillac.com and searched many dealer inventories. There are now alot of dealers showing CT5-V Blackwings that are “In Transit”. This tells me that they are definitely back into production.

I got a note today, 4/2/22, that my order (CT5V BW) had a status number of 3000, which means that all of the parts had been ordered. I hope they are not on a ship enroute from China.

4/11/22. I got a notice from the sales lady with whom I am dealing. She said that Cadillac had notified her that my CT5V Blackwing (ordered in October 21) would begin the build procedure in the week starting May 23. I don’t know how long it takes to build one, but I can’t see that it would take over a week. So I am hoping that delivery will be in June 22. Hold a good thought.

I am beginning to get annoyed with Cadillac. First they announce that 2021 Blackwings will be a limited run of 125 units. Then 2022 is supposed to be the “final” run of 1500 units. Now 2023 is going to have 125 units. Cadillac is pulling the same BS stunt that Dodge did when they made 2500 units of the “limited edition” Shaker hood. People paid extra for the privilege and then the next year they went and made “Un-numbered” Shakers by the thousands. Makes their “limited edition” purchase not so limited anymore.

I share your frustration. One would think that if the Blackwing model is in such high demand, Cadillac would be making them as fast as they could. Restricting production, to me, seems to be a flawed business model.

Fly Army – Where did you get those production numbers? I have not seen anything. They have 500+ dealers, and if they are only making 1750, that is 3-4 per dealer depending on size. Looks like more than that floating out there on the web.

I heard the number of 1500 last year , when GM said 2022 would be the last year of V8 engines. (Now known to be not true.) When I heard that, I said to myself that I have to try and get me one of them, if possible. I ordered it October and was told by my dealer/owner that they have no clue on who will be able to order one. If you Google the question ….how many 2022 CT5-V Blackwings will be built….it responds with an answer from Oct. 4th that “no more than 3000 total units” between the CT4-V and CT5-V will be built. I believe I saw on TV that they wanted to build 1500 of each. They are now saying that for 2023 only 120 units will be built as 120th Anniversary Editions. If you do the math , Cadillac started in 1902 and 2023 is actually 121 years.

I got that order number list from a different Cadillac owner blog. I thought it might be helpful to some of the Metin this site. I ordered my CT5V Blackwing in October 21 and was told it would be a year. Sales rep sent me a note that my build week was May 23, 22 and the order number was 3000. I’m hoping to get it in June, but not holding my breath. I flew AF. B-52 then AA. Now retired
