Cadillac F1 Team Introduces Official Logo Prior To Miami Grand Prix

Thanks red tape and other forms of bureaucracy, it’s been a rough ride to get Cadillac into Formula 1. Luckily, all that’s all in the past, a Cadillac F1 effort being officially confirmed. And now, the Cadillac F1 team has revealed its logo.

The debut came shortly before the Miami Grand Prix this past weekend, revealing a monochrome five-point Cadillac crest over a subtle yet sophisticated “Cadillac F1 Team” script in what appears to be the same font. The simple signet may be a call to the luxury marque’s transition to a monochromatic Caddy crest – something Cadillac Society predicted way back in 2018, and which the luxury marque is now using on its new portfolio of battery electric vehicles. And while Cadillac may be in the midst of a switch to battery-powered propulsion for its production vehicles, F1 racing will still see the use of hybrid powertrains when the automaker’s race team makes it debut next season.

Although the Cadillac F1 racing team is set to start in 2026, parent company General Motors – more specifically, its dedicated engine division, GM Precision Power Units – won’t supply engines until 2029. In the interim, Ferrari will be the Caddy team’s engine supplier. Meanwhile, Ford and Red Bull have developed a partnership of their own, with the former supplying hybrid powertrains to the latter. Needless to say, the rivalry between the two domestic automotive leaders is alive and well.

The competition is certain to call attention to the Cadillac name, and cashing in on the global cachet will surely boost its image, which the automaker can leverage as it shines the spotlight on its new EVs.

“Cadillac is honored to share the F1 stage with the best luxury brands from around the world. It’s a brand whose legacy on and off the track is filled with innovation, technological precision, and timeless beauty,” said GM President Mark Reuss in a statement. “Our journey has been long but from the very beginning, it has been about ambition… audacity… and now acceleration.”

We look forward to seeing the Cadillac F1 effort unfold next year. Until then, there are several key details that are still under wraps, including the Cadillac F1 team’s driver lineup. Needless to say, it’s an exciting time for the automaker as it looks to extend its rich racing heritage, which it honored this year with the creation of two limited edition vehicles: the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud and the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre.
