The Cadillac Society Take

Cadillac sales started the 2025 calendar year with strong double-digit growth during the first-quarter of 2025. In addition to the 18 percent growth in total deliveries, the results also included a 21 percent growth rate in retail sales and a 37 percent growth in EV sales. The results represent Cadillac’s third consecutive quarterly increase in the U.S. market, with the growth strengthening the luxury marque’s position in its home country.

Most Cadillac models were in the green during Q1 2025, led by the best-selling Cadillac Escalade. The full-size SUV had the marque’s highest growth rate, adding a significant 3,548 units compared to the same period in 2024. As such, the refreshed model has positively impacted the Escalade’s performance and strengthened its position as the most popular vehicle in the portfolio.

The Cadillac XT5, XT6 and CT5 also achieved healthy increases, further contributing to the bottom line despite the decline of the Cadillac Lyriq, which saw an interruption to its strong performance in prior months. This was likely due to the launch of the new Cadillac Optiq, which saw its first quarter of deliveries total 1,716 units, more than accounting for the 1,500 unit drop in Lyriq sales during the quarter.

It’s also worth noting that the all-new, all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ saw its first quarter of sales, adding nearly 2,000 deliveries to the bottom line.

  1. What are the Celestiq sales numbers?

    • Cadillac doesn’t provide Celestiq figures. Regardless, they’ll be so low that it’s probably not even worth reporting…

  2. If you look at the sales chart, almost all the gasoline vehicles are up in sales while the IQ are bumping along.GM should see that the majority of buyers want ice cars not electric!

  3. I agree with Frank, Cadillac is abandoning good ICE vehicles like the CT5, the XT5 and XT6 in favor of EVs. They are leaving their traditional customers for dead. I think that’s a big mistake. I’ve bought or leased 20 new Cadillacs over the past 45 years, but don’t want an Electric Car. When the lease is up on my current CT5 and XT6. I’ll either buy them out of the leases or switch brands. Cadillac needs to recognize that loyalty is a two-way street.

  4. EV, sales are dismal because nobody wants electric cars. Nobody, Cadillac wake up and Fast. Get woke and go broke. Is Mary Bara trying to Bud Lite us!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to be 74 in July. I got my first Cadillac Fleetwood when I was in my 30’s and have driven Cadillacs ever since. My car choice before my first Cadillac was a 1974 Corvette coupe, 454 with a 4 speed I brought new when I graduated from college. I am loyal to Cadillac but am I the only one seeing the path Cadillac is on. Making cars we don’t want and killing the cars we do want. What did Mary Bara say when she sat down for dinner, “Pass Me a Bud Lite”. Yikes!

  5. I strongly agree with all the previous comments. My 2023 Escalade is up 1/26 this being my 4th Escalade. I have been a loyal GM/Cadi customer for over 50 years. I wanted to downsize to an xt6 but with GM’s disastrous short sighted movie to an all electric line up except for the Escalade and Corvette I will be forced to seek another manufacturer that meets my ICE preference. Very short sighted and piss poor planning on GM’s part not to at least offer hybrid models. They not only loose the sale but also they follow up service income.

  6. Cadillac needs to get better colors. I have past on buying a new Cadillac this year. I am continuing to drive my 2021 Cadillac and hoping they improve their colors for 2026 . What they have for colors now are terrible washed out colors that some old woman with a cat would like . And oh I have driven Cadillacs since 1978 . Come on Cadillac wake up .
