The Cadillac CT4 has been around since the 2020 model year. And though the CT4’s bigger sibling, the CT5, was refreshed for the 2025 model year, the CT4 has not received such treatment. However, an updated model may have been recently previewed in a video.
The Wall Street Journal recently toured the Warren Technical Center (WTC) – the primary research and vehicle development facility of Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors. Located in Warren, Michigan, the WTC was the recent recipient of several investments that enabled all kinds of upgrades, including revamped design studios, and The Journal’s video provides a tour of the updated facility, including footage of designers hard at work in the background. Though nothing specific is called out, one of the vehicles that appears in the video seems to be a Cadillac CT4 that differs from the production model on sale today.
Although the shot of this particular model is brief, it drums up some key points. Firstly, it seems to be the only sedan in the studio, at least among those vehicles seen in the video. Secondly, the general shape and size of the model appears to be that of the CT4, albeit with different headlights and LED grille, both of which are similar to those seen on the Cadillac Optiq, potentially hinting at a battery electric setup.
This grille seems to be an iteration of the illuminated Black Crystal shield “grille” used on Cadillac EVs today. The execution incorporates curved lines and a centrally placed badge, similar to what we see on Luxury-trimmed models (as opposed to Sport trims), while the headlights feature both, a horizontally-oriented and a vertically-oriented lighting pattern. Given that the greenhouse appears to be the same as the current CT4, the model seen could be an evolution of the current CT4, rather than a complete overhaul.
Whatever the case may be, Cadillac has walked back its plans for an all-electric lineup. The marque is now all about offering customers the “luxury of choice” between an EV or an ICE-based model.

And it now represents the best value in its segment.
The last Caddy was built there in 2016.
Another possibility is that it's an upcoming refresh.
