Check Out The Most Popular Cadillac CT6 Platinum 4.2L Twin-Turbo V8 Colors

The last Cadillac CT6 4.2L Twin-Turbo V8 rolled off the assembly line almost five years ago, marking the end of a relatively short run for the large sedan and its V8 engine. All told, buyers of this model could select from nine exterior colors, and Cadillac Society now breaks down the popularity of these hues, revealing which shades resonated most with buyers and which ones flew under the radar.

The most popular color produced for the 2019 Cadillac CT6 was Black Raven (paint code GBA), which decorated 40.5 percent of models, or 68 units. Crystal White Tricoat (paint code G1W) was a distant second at 20.2 percent, decorating 34 units, followed by Manhattan Noir Metallic at 12.5 percent or 21 units.

For the 2020 model year, Crystal White was produced the most at 35 percent or 41 units; Stellar Black and Manhattan Noir tied for second at 16.2 percent, or 19 units apiece. Black Raven was the fourth most produced color for the 2020 CT6, accounting for 13.7 percent, or just 16 units.

Interestingly, Black Raven was the most popular color for both the 2019 and 2020 Cadillac CT6-V, which was the most powerful CT6 variant, harnessing the same engine as the CT6 Platinum 4.2L Twin-Turbo V8: the 4.2L V8 Blackwing engine (production code LTA).

Under the hood of the 2019 and 2020 Cadillac CT6 Platinum 4.2L Twin-Turbo V8, the Blackwing engine delivered 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque. This powerhouse was notable for its dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) configuration, a lightweight aluminum cylinder block, forged steel crankshaft, forged steel connecting rods, and aluminum pistons, along with twin turbos in a hot-v configuration. The same engine in the CT6-V was rated at 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.

Out of 1,200 examples of the CT6 featuring the Blackwing engine, 285 of them were cradled by the CT6 Platinum, as previously reported by Cadillac Society and discussed on our podcast, which is embedded above.
