The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq is spearheading the luxury marque’s return to Australia and New Zealand after a long absence in the region. With order books now officially open, buyers can soon experience the luxury electric crossover firsthand, underscoring Caddy’s commitment to the region with sights set on success.
As of mid-last week, buyers are able to begin placing orders for the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq via its online sales platform, where they can choose between the Luxury and Sport trim. As with the U.S. market Lyriq, the Luxury trim offers a more traditional aesthetic defined by bright chrome accents, while the Sport trim is defined by monochromatic exterior elements with body-color and dark accents for a more sinister look. As a reminder, Cadillac will not have traditional dealerships in Oceania, but will operate out of boutique showrooms inside shopping malls.
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq for Australia and New Zealand feature a two-motor setup with all-wheel-drive (AWD), rated at 388 kW or 520 horsepower. The powertrain is fed by a 102 kWh Battery pack, which enables the crossover to travel 530 km or roughly 329 miles between charges.
“Lyriq sets the standard for the future of Cadillac in the region, and we are thrilled to be officially taking customer orders this month,” said Managing Director of General Motors Australia and New Zealand, Jess Bala. “This is a significant milestone for the launch of Cadillac in Australia and New Zealand with customers able to order their new Cadillac Lyriq online.”
Notably, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq headed for Australia is right-hand-drive (RHD), and it will be produced at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee alongside the left-hand-drive (LHD) variant sold in North America. To make this possible, the luxury marque is implementing a production line dedicated to RHD at the facility that will allow it to be produced alongside its LHD counterparts. Once built, the RHD Lyriq will then be exported to Australia.
Pricing for the Lyriq Luxury starts at $117,00 AUD (roughly $79,560 USD at the current exchange rate), while the Sport trim starts at $119,000 AUD ($80,920 USD).
