Sales of premium/luxury three-row crossovers (lux crossover E-segment) grew 10 percent to 109,574 units in Q2 2024, meaning XT6 sales significantly underperformed the segment average.
Simply put, Cadillac XT6 sales continue to lose ground to competitors, many of which have been treated to midcycle refreshes or complete overhauls, like the refreshed 2025 Lincoln Aviator or the all-new TX. At this time, Cadillac has not announced plans to answer the likes of the Aviator with an updated XT6 in North America, and we’ve learned that an updated Cadillac XT6 is planned, but it might be offered in China and not in North America, signaling that the XT6 will be sunset in the near future. The smaller XT5 will see very much the same fate.
A replacement for the XT6 is coming in the form of the all-electric Cadillac Vistiq, though whether consumers will follow Cadillac in switching from an internal combustion engine to a battery electric powertrain is currently unknown.
Until then, though, we expect Cadillac XT6 sales to continue to slide as buyers in the market for a three-row luxury crossover turn toward models that are newer, more modern and more competitive.
We're not aware of any plans to bring the updated XT6 to North America.
