The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq features several changes and updates as the luxury marque continues to hone its first-ever battery electric vehicle. One of the bigger changes is an increase in horsepower over its 2023 and 2024 model year predecessors, Cadillac Society has learned.
Both the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) Lyriq variants feature double-digit increases in horsepower ratings. The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq RWD, which features a single rear-mounted Ultium Drive motor, is now rated at 365 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 25 horsepower compared to the 2023 and 2024 models, which were rated at 340 horsepower.
Meanwhile, the Lyriq AWD, which features a second motor on the front axle, is now estimated to produce 515 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For reference, the 2023 and 2024 Lyriq AWD were rated at 500 horsepower.
The torque ratings remain the same for both the RWD and AWD models.
Cadillac has been working hard to simplify the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq lineup. Part of the luxury marque’s efforts include decreasing the number of parts it uses by 24 percent, which goes a long way toward keeping costs under control. The base Tech trim has also been slashed from the lineup, meaning that the trim level offerings consist of Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, Sport 2, Luxury 3 and Sport 3.
In the absence of the Tech trim, the Lyriq Luxury 1 in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) guise is the new base model, which starts at $59,990. Opting for all-wheel-drive bumps the price of the Luxury 1 to $63,490. The most expensive trim is still Sport 3, which now starts at $68,890 with RWD and $72,390 with AWD. Thanks to the luxury marque’s efforts to streamline the Lyriq, the 2025 Lyriq is quite a bit more affordable than the outgoing 2024 model, with some trims receiving a $2,700 decrease in MSRP.
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform. Production is handled at the Cadillac Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for North American markets.
