The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ dropped cover in late 2023, propelling the luxury marque’s most recognizable nameplate into the age of the electric vehicle. As with the internal combustion engine (ICE) Escalade and its longer sibling, the Escalade ESV, the all-electric Escalade IQ will be offered with two lengths, including the regular-length Escalade IQ and the extended-length Escalade IQL. Cadillac Society captured photos of the Escalade IQL in person, showing off the extended-length model without any sort of camouflage or covering.
This Cadillac Escalade IQL appears to be close to production-ready, if its badging and lack of camo are any indication. Interestingly, the Escalade IQL does not seem to have a larger wheelbase than the regular-length Escalade IQ, but its rear overhang is notably longer, which will provide more room for passengers in the third row.
Note that the rear door cut of the Escalade IQL is identical to that of the regular-length Escalade IQ. The seam is positioned in the same place on both models’ rear wheel arches. This is a marked deviation from the Escalade ESV, whose rear doors do not intersect the wheel arches at all. This is yet another indication that the wheelbase of the IQL isn’t actually longer than the IQ, and that its extra length branches out behind the rear wheels.
The Escalade IQL does have some exterior accents that help to distinguish it from its regular-length counterparts. This is most evident around the C- and D-pillars, where its sharp C-pillar is accentuated by bright chrome trim. The D-pillar, meanwhile, is more elongated than that of the IQ and is fitted with a larger window, unlike the IQ, which features a painted panel. The taillights and rear glass, meanwhile, are fixed in a more upright position than the IQ.
Deviating from the Escalade and Escalade ESV, the Escalade IQL doesn’t feature a dramatic increase in length over the Escalade IQ. By keeping the luxury electric SUV’s overall size smaller, Cadillac can ensure it doesn’t negatively impact range while also keeping costs under control. Considering that the Escalade IQ will start at the $130,000 mark, prioritizing the management of its price will make it more competitive.
The Escalade IQ rides on the BT1 platform. Production occurs at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, now known as Factory Zero.

I like the looks of the IQ, but the IQL looks like a hearse.

You’re right! I think it’s that stylized landau iron on the upper rear quarter. Now I can’t unsee it!

Yes! This seems to be similar to the Acura clone of the Lyriq.
I saw the Acura yesterday at a dealership and the resemblances to a hearse is even striking in person. The salesman just shrugged sadly and said, “I hear that a lot”.
