Audi A6 E-Tron Debuts With No Electric Cadillac Sedan Rival

Cadillac rival Audi just unveiled the Audi A6 e-tron, an all-electric luxury sedan offered in the “regular” A6 e-tron, A6 e-tron quattro, and S6 e-tron Sportback variants in the U.S., joined by the A6 e-tron Avant (wagon) in other global markets. Notably, Cadillac does not currently offer an electric vehicle that will compete with any of the A6 e-tron variants.

To ensure peak efficiency, the Audi A6/S60 e-tron range was sculpted with aerodynamics in mind. Its low profile ensures that airflow over the top creates minimal drag, while the underbody was engineered in a way to improve airflow on every side of the vehicle. This includes special wheel trims, 3D bumps ahead of the front wheels, a special undertray,  battery, rear axle, and sill panels.

The Audi A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron boast advanced lighting displays that offer up to eight customizable lighting signatures. The headlights and rear lights have a 3D design, while digital daytime running lights (DRLs) feature optional LED tech. Out back, the luxury electric sedan boasts digital OLED lighting signatures.

Inside, the A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron feature a panoramic display consisting of a 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, 14.5-inch touch display and 10.9-inch front passenger display. It also features a panoramic glass roof with opacity control, much like that of the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq. The infotainment system utilizes Android Automotive OS with built-in applications for things like music, video, navigation, gaming, parking and charging, weather, and more.

The A6 e-tron is exclusively offered in rear-wheel-drive (RWD), offering 270 kW (362 horsepower) and an estimated zero to 60 mph run of 5.2 seconds. The A6 e-tron quattro features an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain and is good for 315 kW (422 horsepower) for a 4.3-second zero to 60mph time, while the S6 e-tron also features AWD with a bit more power behind it. Namely, this model offers 370 kW (496 horsepower) without launch control; activating this feature bumps that figure to 405 kW (543 horsepower) for a 3.7-second zero to 60 mph time.

The Audi A6 e-tron also offers a wealth of driver assistance features, such as adaptive driving assist, which supports the driver during acceleration, braking, and lane guidance. This can reduce driver fatigue during long stints behind the wheel and help maximize efficiency.

Though prices for American markets have yet to be announced, pricing for the Audi A6 e-tron will start at €75,600 (roughly $81,567 USD), while the S6 e-tron Sportback will start at €99,500 ($107,353 USD).

It’s worth noting that Cadillac currently doesn’t have any models to rival the A6/S6 e-tron range, but – as Cadillac Society reported previously – sedan-like vehicles are part of the luxury marque’s future product strategy.
