The Cadillac Society Take
After experiencing three consecutive months of increases, Cadillac Mexico sales suffered a double-digit decline in April. The setback becomes the first negative result recorded by the luxury marque thus far during the 2024 calendar year.
The solid performance of the Cadillac Escalade was not enough to overcome the drastic drop in Cadillac XT4 sales. The compact crossover went from recording an outstanding month in April 2023 to the point of not selling a single unit a year later, subtracting 19 deliveries on a year-over-year basis. Simply put, the brand ran out of inventory of the 2023 XT4 while the refreshed 2024 XT4 just began to arrive in Mexico.
The Cadillac XT5 also recorded a considerable year-over-year drop, further contributing to the marque’s poor performance. Meanwhile, the new Cadillac Lyriq continues to have no impact among Mexican customers, seeing fairly low sales volume. In fact, far from gradually increasing its volume after its local launch, the all-electric crossover once again recorded a decline on a month-over-month basis (five sales in March 2024 compared to three in April).
