The Cadillac Society Take

The slight but notable drop in Cadillac sales during the first quarter expands the luxury marque’s negative performance in the US market, continuing the commercial setback suffered in Q4 2023, which interrupted Cadillac’s five consecutive quarters in the green. As such, the results for the first three months of 2024 represent Caddy’s second consecutive quarterly contraction in the United States market.

The decline is the result of a widespread reduction in the volume of most of the marque’s models. In fact, the year-over-year reduction in volume is quite significant, amounting to 6,680 units across six nameplates. Among the vehicles that saw the biggest reductions in volume were the Cadillac XT4 (-1,894 units) and Cadillac CT5 (-1,571 units).

The good news is that the Cadillac Lyriq cushioned the massive drops in volume experienced by most models during the first quarter. The all-electric crossover recorded a drastic increase of almost 500 percent to 5,800 deliveries, the highest quarterly sales in its history. This impressive increase is the result of increased production at the Spring Hill plant.

  1. Keep pushing the EV’s and not having the XT5 NEWEST MODEL available in the U S A ,will not help the sales.

    • I feel the same Frank, I would have purchased a GT4 (refreshed XT4) that is only available in China. Cadillac seems to not think of its USA loyal customers. I think I will start looking else where.

  3. It’s no surprise. They lost me after 35 years of ownership. My last 2 NYS lemon law vehicles were so bad Mary Barra’s office called to give me additional offers. Admitting to very poorly craftsmanship. More time in service than my garage. I refused and sadly went foreign. And naturally no more problems.
