Cadillac has released a service update for certain units of the 2023 Cadillac CT4 and 2023 Cadillac CT5 to address an issue with the luxury sedans’ oil level indicator, also known as the dipstick.
The problem: certain units of the 2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 may have a condition in which the luxury sedan was built without the correct oil level indicator (dipstick).
The hazards: if the oil level indicator is not correct, then the vehicle may not have the proper oil level, which may in turn cause damage to the engine.
The fix: dealers are to inspect the vehicle’s dipstick and replace if necessary. Additionally, they are to check the oil level and top it off if needed. This procedure will be provided at no cost to vehicle owners.
Affected vehicles:
- 2023 Cadillac CT4
- 2023 Cadillac CT5
Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac indicated that only eight units of the 2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 may present with this condition.
Affected components: oil level indicator (dipstick).
Next steps: owners of affected vehicles can reach out to Cadillac directly if there are any questions or concerns they wish to address using the contact information below.
It’s important to note that this is a service update, not a recall, meaning that it will expire at the end of the vehicle’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty Period.
