The 2023 Cadillac CT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Argent Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Midnight Steel Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Steel hue.
Assigned production code GXU and touch-up paint code WA-138H, Midnight Steel Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the luxury sedan, which include:
- Black Raven
- Blaze Orange Metallic
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Summit White
- Wave Metallic
- Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
- Midnight Steel Metallic (new for 2023)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
The Midnight Steel Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $625 to the luxury sedan’s price. It is available on all three “regular” CT5 trim levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport – and can be combined with all four interior colorways:
- Cinnamon with Jet Black accents
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents
- Sangria with Jet Black accents
- Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents
The 2023 Cadillac CT5 arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model, including adding the inclusion of the Driver Assist Package as standard as well as the addition of the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system to the options list. The 2023 CT5 also gets the new Bronze Accent Package on the CT5 as well as on the CT5-V, as well as a new CT5 Blue Accent package, while losing the CT5 Diamond Sky Special Edition Package.
The luxury sedan is underpinned by the Alpha 2 platform and is offered with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This boosted four-cylinder is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. Meanwhile, the twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY), rated at 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury. Both engines are mated to the luxury marque’s 10-speed automatic transmission. All aforementioned CT5 trims are offered in either rear- or all-wheel drive.
Production of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 began at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on July 18th, 2022.

This article appears to have an error or to provide misinformation. The 2023 CT5 model has more interior colors available than listed, including the Platinum package equipped CT5’s which only feature the Sedona Sauvage interior color, and there is no Sangria interior color offered for the CT5 model (rather the CT4 models offer the Sangria color interior.) There are two beige colors of interior, Sahara Beige and Whisper Beige. (This is according to the GM Online Order and Reference Guide.)
