Minor changes are on the way for the 2023 Cadillac XT5, which represents the seventh model year of the luxury crossover’s first generation. Cadillac Society has learned that the 2023 XT5 will lose three exterior paint options that were previously offered on 2022 model year vehicles.
Cadillac Society sources indicated that the following three paint colors will no longer be available once the 2022 model year is built out (relevant paint codes in parentheses):
All of the aforementioned exterior paint colors were previously offered on all trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT5. They were also able to be equipped with any of the six interior color options, with one exception: Infrared Tintcoat could not be paired with the Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents interior color combination.
It should be noted that Dark Moon Blue Metallic was considered a premium option on the 2022 Cadillac XT5, and cost an extra $625 to equip. Infrared Tintcoat, meanwhile, added $1,225 to the overall price of the luxury crossover. There was no additional charge for Satin Steel Metallic paint.
While the XT5 has lost three colors for its 2023 model year, it will also add three new options. They are as follows:
Radiant Red Tintcoat and Opulent Blue Metallic will be available for an extra charge, while Argent Silver Metallic does not carry an additional charge.
The Cadillac XT5 is nearing the end of its first generation lifecycle and is soon due for an overhaul. Cadillac Society has learned that the current model will soldier on at least through the 2024 model year, and we’ve heard whispers that the next-gen model might only be available in China.
As a reminder, the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 are equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) as standard, which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. These models wear the 350T badge on the liftgate, as per Cadillac’s latest torque-based product naming strategy. Additionally, the naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, is optional on the Premium Luxury trim and standard on the Sport trim. Both engine options bolt to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission, with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
